연구 내용

안과학은 눈의 구조와 기능, 다양한 안질환의 진단 및 치료를 포함한 임상분야로, 본 연구실에서는 각막과 결막을 포함하는 외안부, 백내장, 굴절교정수술, 콘택트렌즈 등 안질환을 실험적 혹은 임상적으로 연구를 하고 있다.

관심있는 연구분야는 각막세포와 약물의 독성연구, 각막이식 및 인공각막 개발연구, 수정체세포의 변이와 인공수정체 개발연구, 콘택트렌즈 연구, 눈물관의 인공 누기개발연구, 익상편수술 및 안표면재건술 등 임상적 연구와 더불어 생체외 실험적 연구를 시행하고 있다. 현재 매년 다수의 논문을 국내외 전문학술지에 발표하고 있고, 안과학 교육에도 중점을 두어 국내에서는 최초로 영문판 안과검사학 교과서 <Primary Eye Examination>을 비롯하여 <눈검사/수술 바로알기> <최신 임상 콘택트렌즈> <백내장> <각막> 등 전문분야에 관한 책들을 집필/출간하고 있다.
